We are a long standing business, operating since 1981 but under new owners and leadership, the past 4 years has seen our offer expand into CNC machining and we are growing at a high pace with big plans for expansion in the future.
We are looking for a Production Engineer to join our established team in the manufacturing of bespoke fasteners and precision components, supporting in the expediting of jobs from job card to despatch. Supporting the Managing Director and the shop floor team, this role is critical in ensuring jobs run smoothly throughout the manufacturing process.
The Production Engineer is responsible for:
Determining the production process for new machined and threaded parts using purchase order and customer drawings
Co-ordinate work and expedite jobs through the factory to completion to meet the requirements of the production schedule
Manage efficiently the distribution of work to job contractors for processing, such as heat treatment or metal plating
Ensuring quality control measures at all times to ensure parts are manufactured to customer drawings
Upkeep of ISO9001 documentation, liaising with our Quality Consultant to ensure compliance at all times
Finding resolutions to shop floor part quality issues to determine route cause
Answering and managing shop floor queries
Liaising with customers to provide updates, ensuring the manufacturing process is completed, to standard, within key delivery times.

We are looking for an experienced production engineer with a strong understanding of different manufacturing processes for turned and threaded parts. This role requires both office and factory floor work and we require someone who is happy to balance both elements. A knowledge of job scheduling would also be advantageous.
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
A detailed understanding of technical drawings for turned parts or threaded components
Knowledge of tooling required to manufacture a machined component.
Experience of operating and setting turning machines.
Knowledge of metal materials, specifically bar stock.
Understanding of general fastener standards and strength grades
