This successful global manufacturer of high-tech machinery, instruments, subsystems and process control solutions for a wide range of different manufacturing industries, now requires a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a key project focused on evaluating operational activities, developing and improving the performance & quality received from their key suppliers.
Seeking to identify and action improvements, the Supplier Quality Engineer will research operational quality information with suppliers of all sizes, located across the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate will utilise Quality Tools like CAPA / 8D to 1:1 Interfacing and auditing with their large Supply base and internal processes.
Duties Will Include;
Undertaking deep dives into the internal quality systems and supplier quality activities to identify improvements available within the supply chain.
Working alongside a small team of inspectors, the Supplier Quality Engineer will report to the Quality manager.
Provide daily monitoring of rejected material within operations, conducting Root Cause Analysis and facilitating the return to suppliers to trend, tackle and lessen these issues using appropriate quality tools.
Audit the internal & Suppliers Quality Management Systems, often remotely and occasionally at a Supplier location. Working the associated corrective actions with process owners through to completion.
Reviewing data, trends analysis, identifying and implementing corrective actions, addressing the root cause. Participate and Lead 8D, CAPA activities.
Develop a Supplier Development Program specifically for the UK Operation
Training suppliers in the use of appropriate quality techniques to the standards and style of the business
Establishing Incoming Material Inspection Plans
Supporting the site management in development of its QMS processes and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
QMS Auditing experience, ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training, to work hand in hand with sites in UK and Overseas
Good communications skills to be able to liaise with Design & Development, Engineering and Supplier Teams seamlessly
Competence in mechanical, electrical, electronic, vacuum and clean manufacturing Best Practices
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills using a variety of resources.
The ability to ask pertinent questions to gain a deep understanding of any given problem scenario
8D and KT knowledge and experience sufficient to lead diverse groups to solve often very complex issues, usually with multiple streams of Root Cause and requiring careful, frequent action assignment and monitoring
A willingness to be adaptive and to be able to focus on several tasks at once, working closely with business Stakeholders
