As we are only a small business, with a relatively small scope of more old school machines (mix of hydraulic and pneumatic), the successful candidate will need to be adaptable and competent in a multitude of specialisms but also capable of carrying out electrical work, which should be able to minimise our use of contractors and enable our Maintenance Supervisor to move away from working on the tools to cover electrical skill gaps.
As we specialise in remanufacturing car parts, the areas that the candidates will be working in can be oily and dirty and at times labour intensive, but we expect this candidate to come in and bring a new level of responsibility to the department and those they are assisting on the line.
The role will be on a shift pattern of:
6.00 - .2.30pm Monday to Thursday
6.00 - 12.00pm on Fridays
7.30am - 4.00pm
7.30am - 1.30pm on Fridays
The role will require overtime for breakdowns or scheduled PPM's.
We do not work bank holidays and we shut down for Christmas until into the New year. (Unless for breakdown or remedial work that cannot be carried out during working hours). The factory only runs on one shift, so there is no night shifts or 4 on 4 off shifts - and we do not see the requirement for this in the near future at present.
We are aware that in this industry and specifically the Engineering field, these hours are extremely rare and beneficial, but we would like the candidate to be aware that flexibility is a key part to this role, so if a request is made to revert from the hours above, we expect full flexibility to support the business. We pay overtime at time and half on Monday - Saturday and double time on Sundays (we try to avoid Sunday work unless completely essential).
