Job Title: Quality Engineer

Work Location Pershore

Reports To (Line Manager): Quality Director

Your main purpose is:
* To provide a proactive and cross functional conduit between the Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
* Developing cost effective and efficient production methods to meet customer requirements whilst complying with relevant Standards.
* Where necessary, it may be a requirement to deputise for the Quality Senior, therefore acting as Quality Representative in their absence.

• Assisting the Quality Teams, to achieve departmental requirements
• Lead and assist deployment of Quality Inspectors to meet the requirements of Production outputs
• Create documentation necessary to reflect the work breakdown structures necessary to manufacture products, components, and systems, in a safe
and time efficient manner, ensuring production targets and timescales are achieved
• Provide feedback to the Production Engineering and Estimating teams as required, to support future business opportunities / bids
• Promoting awareness and use of the Business Management System, identifying opportunities for training / Improvement
• Provide technical support to Production personnel, ensuring all queries are addressed in a timely fashion
• Assisting and managing the transfer of information provided to the Production Engineering Department in relation to Change Control of engineering drawings
• Evaluation of Build documentation, identifying opportunities for improvements and further requirements, creating, and / or updating as required to meet the needs of relevant parties
• Manage non-conformances resulting from systems and manufacturing outputs, updating register(s) - Internal / Customer / Supplier, proactively escalating and progressing as appropriate to resolve issues in a timely manner, meeting expectations
• Perform regular and routine Patrol Inspections of all manufacture areas, recording data as appropriate / required
• Responsible for the review and development of manufacturing processes, conducting quality checks, troubleshooting faulty parts, Jigs, and fixtures
• Assist with the planning and co-ordination of effective production and quality product(s)
• Review and maintain Calibrated and Specialist equipment registers, liaising with Business Management System Technical Administrators on effective management
• Collation and updating KPI data and Communications Boards
• Assist with reviewing and updating Training Matrices of Production, and Inspection Personnel

• Degree (Engineering discipline Desirable)
• Demonstrable experience / portfolio
• Auditor training (Preferred)

• Planning experience, NPI, and product life cycle
• Experience of working within the guidelines of, EN 15085-2, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, 45001 (18001)
• Experience of Defence (AQAP's, Mil Std's), Rail (RIS), and Automotive (IATF), Standards

Job Title: Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer

Your main purpose is:

The primary responsibility of the Lead Production Engineer is to effectively lead the production engineering function to continuously drive and improve the manufacturing processes in order to ensure production of high quality fabrications and machined parts for the Military Vehicle and Railway industries with respect to Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
• Documenting production procedures and create Company standards to improve the efficiency of Production.
• Collaborate with Quality Department to identify and implement ongoing quality improvements.
• Develop and implement production processes for new products, product enhancements and product changes. Install related fixtures and tooling, as required.
• Work with development engineering team, (both internal and external) to transition proprietary products from development phase to production phase through production engineering solutions, compliant with engineering quality standards.
• Minimize overall production costs while maximizing productivity.
• Collect, analyse, summarize, and present production and process data, information, and trends to management.
• Support process engineering change notice (ECN) and related Material Review Board (MRB) activities, as required. Actively finding ways to reduce non-conformances.
• Assist in the evaluation of returned materials/products.
• Participate with production team and quality team to reduce scrap and rework costs.
• Review internal operational facility layouts for process improvement.
• Assist development of sub-contract supply chain through application of robust process for outsourcing and return of work.
• Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
• Lead develop and mentor the Production Engineering team.
• Understanding of manufacturing BoM's and Routings by interpreting customer and internal design drawings.
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and signoff engineering drawings for manufacturing.
• Liaise and support customers and stake holders as required.
• Documenting changes to drawings in accordance with our ISO9001 system.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to the Company's production processes.

Person Specification
Essential -
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. HND/C Minimum.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing and production processes and concepts.
• Knowledge of machining, laser cutting, brake pressing, punching, welding etc
• Experience of working within a sheet metal fabrications environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards.
• The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate.
• Experience of working in a process led environment.
• Self-motivated, dynamic individual who can meet production timescales.

Covid - 19 Considerations

Must be fully capable of reading engineering drawings and understanding all ISO standard dimensional controls and relating CMM reports back to drawing and process. The role is maintaining quality and precision on tight tolerance, complex, high volume products across a cell of 10 CNC milling machines, lathe experience would be desirable but not essential. There would be daily setting duties and operating when the setting duties are complete.

Salary is negotiable dependent on experience.
